Boys to Men is a registered not-for-profit dedicated to mentoring adolescent boys for their holistic emotional health and personal growth. We have worked with a wide range of schools and groups of boys over the last 10 years, with strong results.

Members of our core team are passionate about mentoring and facilitating personal growth in teenage boys.

Meet the core Team

Bernard Altman

Bernard Altman

Bernard Altman (founder, weekend and program director) is a registered clinical psychologist with over 30 years’ experience working with teenage boys.

Andrew Fisher

Andrew Fisher

Andrew Fisher (programme director) is currently a Masters student at University of Cape Town, and has been involved with mentoring and youth development for ten years. He is also an admitted attorney.

Daniel Goldstone

Daniel Goldstone

Daniel Goldstone (organisation co-leader) is a Masters student in psychology at Stellenbosch University, and a graduate of the Boys to Men weekend, with five years' experience in facilitating Boys to men weekends.

Jesse Brooks

Jesse Brooks

Jesse Brooks (programme co-leader) is an undergraduate student in psychology and philosophy at Stellenbosch University. A graduate of the Boys to Men programme, he is stepping up into a leadership role and helping to move the organisation forward.

Erez Greenberg

Erez Greenberg

Erez Greenberg (director) is an IT professional with 10 years' experience in youth development and has many years of experience in running weekends.

Mark Hainsworth

Mark Hainsworth

Mark Hainsworth (finance director) is a trained engineer with corporate mediation experience. He has extensive experience mentoring youth and facilitating personal growth.

Michael Wohlman

Michael Wohlman

Michael Wohlman (director) is a registered counselling psychologist and executive life coach and has been in practice since 2000. He has extensive experience working with young men in a mentoring capacity.

Boys to Men Youth Development South Africa” is a registered Not for Profit Company in terms of the Companies Act, 2008, with registration number 2014/027536/08

We are also a registered Public Benefit Organisation with section 18A tax-deductible status in terms of the Income Tax Act, which means that bona fide donations are tax-deductible.
